During the Cannes Film Festival, twelve days in a row, the hottest stars in the world walk the famous red carpet wearing the most valuable jewels on the planet. Visitors to Cannes may wonder why, after the films being promoted, the biggest names fluttering on flags and awnings are those of jewellers, some so exclusive many have never heard of them.
