Launched in the historic year of a global pandemic, the new high jewellery houses offered an uplifting dose of spectacular escapism. In 2020, we have seen major jewellery Maisons delaying the revelation of their jewellery collection later in the year, due to the government lockdown restrictions. The leading jewellery houses like Louise Vuitton, Boucheron, Cartier, Piaget, Pomellato, and Gucci unveiled their extraordinary new collections virtually. It has been quite a challenging year, however, we have seen some jewellery designers opening their boutique in the heart of pandemic.

One of the major high jewellery highlights was de Grisogono's former creative director Fawaz Gruosi debuting his new eponymous jewellery brand and opening his first boutique in the heart of Berkley Square, London. The news of launching his own brand comes after Fawaz Gruosi, one of the most influential jewellers in the industry has stepped away from de Grisogono in January 2019. Fawaz was known for his eclectic style, throwing annual gala dinners during the Cannes Film Festival in his tenure years at de Grisogono or commissioning jewellery for Begum Aga Khan before going onto his pathbreaking black diamonds collection and the development of the first de Grisogono watches.
