IJS 2025: Where Visionaries, Voices & Values Shape the Future of Jewellery

Istanbul, April 2025 - This year, the Istanbul Jewelry Show (IJS) reaffirmed its position as one of the world’s most significant gatherings for the global jewellery industry. Held from April 16–19, 2025, at the Istanbul Expo Center, the show achieved a new milestone hosting 31,459 jewelry professionals from 129 countries and reaching an all-time high turnout. With over 1,500 companies and brands participating, the fair saw a 4% increase in overall attendance and a remarkable 14% rise in domestic visitors, highlighting Turkey’s growing importance as a strategic and creative hub in the global jewelry map.


A Gateway to Global Trends & Innovation

IJS 2025 wasn’t just about numbers it was about impact. From cutting-edge design competitions and trend-forward panels to the ever-evolving IJS Tech Zone and seminars by WGSN, the fair offered a comprehensive look at the future of jewelry.

Visitors were immersed in innovation, with the WGSN Trend Forecast Seminar setting the tone for future color palettes, consumer behaviors, and material innovations. Meanwhile, the Design Competition Area showcased the most promising emerging talent across the region, focusing on sustainability, story, and wearability.

Drawing a diverse audience of designers, students, retailers, and digital professionals.

Panelists included:

  • Alia Jewellery (Kuwait) – Pushing boundaries with sculptural silhouettes and rich gold finishes

Each designer represented not just aesthetics but philosophies of place, memory, identity, and future-thinking.



Voices of Purpose: Gender Equality & Ethics in Jewellery

An unforgettable moment came from Satta Matturi, award-winning designer and board member of the Responsible Jewellery Council @theresponsiblejewellerycouncil, who addressed the audience on gender equality and responsible practices in the jewelry world.


In her words: "We must go beyond design we must design systems that are inclusive, fair, and just. Gender equality in jewellery means equal representation at every level from mine to market, from bench to boardroom. This is not only a moral imperative but a business necessity if we want to remain relevant in a world that values transparency, equity, and impact." Satta Matturi.


Her words resonated deeply with the audience, reinforcing the fair’s commitment to ethical leadership and progressive change.
